NEZ PERCE BOW


This bow is a replica of a bow made by the Nez Perce warrior Yellow Wolf for his friend, L.V. McWhorter who would later publish Yellow Wolf's autobiography. As the first battle of the 1877 conflict unfolded at White bird on June 17, 1877, the only weapon that Yellow Wolf had was his hunting bow, replicated here. Six red stripes with black borders decorate the bow. Wood, paint, sinew
