buffalo & elk robes / deer skin hides / painted tee pee linersNative North American Painted Buffalo HidesHide painting is a traditional Plains Indian art form featuring geometric, battle and hunting exploits, "winter counts", and designs inspired by visions and dreams. Although the painted deer skin robe below is of a more Southwestern origin and is also contemporary, we paint buffalo robes and other hides utilizing traditional imagery and designs - geometric's designs (the "Feathered Sun"), pictographs (buffalo hunts and battle scenes), "winter counts", as seen in museums or as an individual art piece as example below.When painting traditional buffalo robes and hides we use earth pigment paints. On some occasions, we use acrylic paints as seen above.

Native Arts Trading provides costumes for a Bill Murray movie
Native Arts Trading is proud to announce that they have provided Native American clothing for the forthcoming Film Four release “Hyde Park on Hudson” starring Bill Murray.
The story of the love affair between FDR and his distant cousin Margaret Stuckley, centered around the weekend in 1939 when the King and Queen of the United Kingdom visited upstate New York.
Head band and dress worn by actor playing Princess Te Ata, a Chickasaw Storyteller
This headdress also featured in the film "Hyde Park on Hudson" (2012) starring Bill Murray. The headdress was worn by Jonathan Brewer playing the part of Ish-ti-opi
note: the dress was worn back to front in the movie!
